Kenneth E. Day, 84, of Plainfield, passed away September 4, 2016. He was
born August 24, 1932 to the late Daniel and Martha (Goodwin) Day in
Indianapolis, IN. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for
Public Service of Indiana as a telecommunications manager for 26 years
retiring in 1990. For over 50 years he operated an amateur ham radio. He was
a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, and the Plainfield
Masonic Lodge #653. Ken is survived by a son, Gary L. Day (KA9ZYL) and a
daughter, Mary L. (Tim) Schmitter. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until
6:00 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home,
Plainfield. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, September 12 in
the Plainfield United Methodist Church. Burial, with military honors, will
be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
