[IRCNews] February meeting reminder

To all interested in Amateur Radio and related areas:  Don't miss the next
meeting of the Indianapolis Radio Club, this coming Friday, February 10, at
7:30 pm.  There will be an informal social time prior to the meeting,
starting around 7:00.

The meeting is in IVY Tech Building NMC, room 438.  This is the fourth floor
auditorium in the building at 50 W. Fall Creek Parkway, N Dr. (See map at
https://www.ivytech.edu/files/downtownindymap.pdf)

Dave Arland will be presenting his always popular summary of what was new at
the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).  Dave will also give us an update on
the TV frequency auction, the repacking of the TV channels and the progress
on the new ATSC 3 TV standard and its implementation. The FCC just completed
the auction and up till now there has been very little information
available.

Dave is Executive Director of the Indiana Broadcasters Association and a
former Indianapolis broadcaster on WIBC (The Gadget Guy), WIRE, WXTZ, and
WAJC radio. Dave is immediate past-chairman of the Indiana Broadcast
Pioneers committee of the IBA and also is a board member of WFYI Public
Media, which operates WFYI Channel 20 and WFYI FM-90.
