[IRCNews] January meeting reminder, and more!

To all interested in Amateur Radio and related areas:  Don't miss the next
meeting of the Indianapolis Radio Club, this coming Friday, January 11, at
7:30 pm.  There will be an informal social time prior to the meeting,
starting around 7:00.

The meeting is in IVY Tech Building IFC - Illinois Fall Creek Center, 2535
N. Capitol Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46208, room 102.  (See map at

The main presentation at Friday's meeting will be on MESH Networks,
presented by Charlie Dawes, AC9FN.   MESH Networks have become very popular
in disaster operation to setup a network quickly connecting different
locations.
 
Also, club dues ($20) for 2019 are due and payable at the meeting to club
treasurer Mark Burke, W9MGB.

Following are meetings currently scheduled for the remainder of this season:

February	Classic Radios and Collections - Members will have a chance
to bring in and display their ham radio collections and memorabilia as well
as to talk about them.

March		What was new at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas
and trend in electronics - Dave Arland  Don't miss this one. Dave has been
one of our most popular speakers.
		
April		Multi-mode MMDVM based Southern Indiana Digital Repeater
System (SIN). This system is in process of building out, but is currently
based in Bloomington area, and bridges YSF, DMR, P25, NXDN, and Dstar
digital modes. Rick Nicholson, N9UMJ and Joe Fitter, K7JOE 
  
May		Radio Astronomy using a modified DirecTV receiver and dish -
Norm Dingle, W9IFW

June		Club Auction  - We need you to bring your ham radio stuff to
sell. Clean out your garage and basement.

upgrading, here are the testing dates for ARRL test sessions sponsored by
the Indianapolis Radio Club:
