In light of the recent events regarding COVID-19, or Coronavirus, the
leadership of the Indianapolis Radio Club has decided to continue with our
meeting scheduled for this Friday, March 13. Everyone is encouraged to be
mindful of frequent hand washing with soap, or use of alcohol based hand
sanitizer. Also, "personal space" should be respected. The club's more
senior members (80 years of age and over) may want to reconsider attending
the meeting, or any public event with large groups of people.

Finally, if anyone is experiencing any of the following symptoms (as copied
from https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-symptoms/), you
are strongly encouraged to NOT attend, and possibly seek medical attention
if the symptoms persist.

"COVID-19 typically causes flu-like symptoms including a fever and cough.

In some patients - particularly the elderly and others with other chronic
health conditions - these symptoms can develop into pneumonia, with chest
tightness, chest pain, and shortness of breath.

It seems to start with a fever, followed by a dry cough.

After a week, it can lead to shortness of breath, with about 20% of patients
requiring hospital treatment.

Notably, the COVID-19 infection rarely seems to cause a runny nose,
sneezing, or sore throat (these symptoms have been observed in only about 5%
of patients). Sore throat, sneezing, and stuffy nose are most often signs of
a cold."

Finally, not related to COVID-19, remember that this meeting will be held in
room 428 (4th floor auditorium) of the North Meridian Center building.

73,
Ken, KJ9B
